Movesia

Setup Guide

Configure your development environment for Movesia.

This guide covers the recommended setup for working with Movesia in your Unity projects.

Project Structure

Movesia works best when it's pointed at the same root folder as your Unity project. This gives the AI agent context about your project's scripts, assets, and configuration.

Workspace Tip

Avoid opening a parent folder that contains multiple Unity projects. Movesia connects to a single Unity Editor instance at a time.

Unity Editor Setup

Enable the Movesia Server

The Movesia Unity package starts a WebSocket server automatically when the Editor loads. You can verify it's running by checking the Unity Console for:

[Movesia] WebSocket server started on port 8765

Custom Port

If port 8765 is already in use, you can change it in Unity's Project Settings:

  1. Go to Edit > Project Settings > Movesia
  2. Change the WebSocket Port value
  3. Update the port in Movesia's settings to match

API Key Configuration

Movesia uses OpenRouter to access Claude. Set your API key in Movesia's settings:

  1. Open Movesia's Settings page
  2. Enter your OpenRouter API key in the API Key field

Alternatively, set the OPENROUTER_API_KEY environment variable.

Verify Connection

After setup, verify everything is working:

  1. Unity Editor is running with your project open
  2. Movesia desktop app is running
  3. Open the chat panel
  4. Type "hello" — you should get a response from the AI agent
